Paleo has a few different names. It is sometimes called The Caveman Diet, The Stone-Age Diet or The Paleolithic Diet. In a nutshell, the Paleo diet consists of eating only foods that would have been eaten by humans during the Paleolithic era.
Your Paleo diet would include vegetables, fruits, nuts, roots and meat. It would not include dairy, grains, sugar, legumes or processed oils. With that said, many people implement revisions to the above referenced guidelines. For example, coffee is said to be a big no-no. Do I drink coffee? Absolutely! Most people following the Paleo diet drink coffee :) Don't run off just yet! Paleo is actually the healthiest lifestyle because it is the only diet that works with your genetics!
